STILL LIFE.

Water polder at ZLTO office in s'Hertogenbosch, 2011.

Comission from Art-Partner (kunstbemiddeling organisatie) for ZLTO (Zuidelijke Land- en Tuinbouworganisatie) - organisation of Dutch farmers. 60m2 water pond with relief mosaics. On the ground floor it looks like a landscape coming from water, from above view it is an image of contemporary still life. two months preparation time (idea, sketching, cutting tiles, casting plaster forms) and three months working on location. Tiles were sponsored by MOSA factory. During work process I had an assistant, Siebe Voogt - an architect, and about 20 volunteers (including my mother, my husband, some of my friends, people who work at ZLTO and people from HAS college, few people from mosaic course). Some of them came for once, some were working much longer. My mom came for three weeks to help. I asked members of ZLTO to bring me some personal things which i can integrate in mosaics (cups, tiles, broken plates, old pipes etc). I got whole collection - partly it is in mosaics now. In the centre there is a water pump which circulates water to the sides and backwards non stop - so the still life gets alive.
